Young business leaders were recognised yesterday evening in the first virtual finals celebration ever done since the creation of the >>venture>> competition in 1997. Swiss Ocean Tech was proud to be one of the selected ventures.
As a finalist in the Industrial & Engineering vertical, Swiss Ocean Tech Ltd. was placed second overall putting it at the top 5% of all participants.
There was a total of 5 verticals winning awards, and although individually judged, the juries for each had some common threads:
- How are the businesses set up? Diverse, passionate and dynamic teams were ranked higher and could make the difference between two equally brilliant ideas.
- What is the innovation? Besides shaping the future and bringing economic improvement, the jury had to be convinced of business potential and market size.
- Is the solution sustainable? Sustainability was a priority. Can the business prove how they are a force for good and what makes their solution different to others.
<<venture>> is the leading competition for start-ups in Switzerland. The organisers claimed a 30% increase in submissions from the years before making this year’s edition the most competitive ever.
